In January 2012, I was hired as the Communications Director for the California State Assembly campaign for Greg Krikorian, a local small-business owner who was running against an incumbent in the 43rd State Assembly District. My role—which included campaign strategy and debate preparation—focused on writing all the copy for the candidate website, mailers, ad buys, and canvassing materials. While we were ultimately unsuccessful in our bid to send Krikorian to Sacramento, but my time in the war room gave me the tools I needed to run media for a City Council campaign the following year, and to remain active in California politics as both a media consultant, and strategist.
